SurveyKiller — Accessibility Statement
Effective date: October 5, 2026
We want everyone to be able to build surveys, answer them, and read the results on SurveyKiller, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen magnification, voice control, or a reduced-motion setting. This statement covers surveykiller.com: the public website, the survey pages that respondents see, and the dashboard that survey creators use. SurveyKiller is operated by Eigenlume LLC.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
We do not fully meet that standard yet. The gaps we know about are listed below, and we are working through them. We would rather tell you about a problem than have you find it.
What we have fixed
In October 2026 we reviewed the whole site and fixed what we found, including:
- Survey pages. Every answer field is labelled by its question. Choice, star-rating, scale and yes/no answers are real radio buttons and checkboxes that announce which option is selected and work with the arrow keys. Dropdowns, dates and times use your browser's own controls. When a required question is missed, the error is announced, linked to the question, and focus moves to it. Moving to the next page moves focus to the new questions and announces the page number. Replies from the optional AI helper are announced as they arrive.
- Colour contrast. Text, buttons, input borders and toggle switches meet WCAG AA contrast in both light and dark themes. When a survey creator picks a brand colour, we adjust the shade used for text and buttons so it stays readable.
- Keyboard and focus. Pop-up windows keep keyboard focus inside them, close with Escape and return focus to where you were. Menus and dropdowns work with the arrow keys. Every page has its own title and clear headings and landmarks, and dashboard pages have a "Skip to content" link. Analytics widgets can be moved with buttons as well as by dragging, and scrolling areas can be reached with the keyboard.
- Charts and tables. Charts have text summaries and a "View data table" option. Lists of people and responses are built as real tables.
- Motion. Animations on the home page respect your device's reduced-motion setting, and the phone demos can be paused.
How we check
We test every public page and every main dashboard page with automated accessibility checks (axe, against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA) in light and dark themes at desktop and phone widths, and we keep automated tests for the fixes above so they do not come back. In our October 2026 check, these automated tests found no failures.
Known limitations
Automated checks cannot catch everything, and we have not yet completed a full manual review with every screen reader. Known gaps:
- Surveys written in a language other than English are still marked as English, so a screen reader may read them with the wrong pronunciation.
- On iPhone, some text fields on survey pages zoom in slightly when you tap them.
- Survey creators write their own questions and may add images or wording that is hard to follow. We cannot guarantee that content our customers create is accessible.
- Answering by voice uses your browser's built-in dictation, so whether it is available depends on your browser. You can always type instead, or answer each question yourself. AI answer help is always optional.
Report a barrier
If something on SurveyKiller is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us.
Email support@surveykiller.com and put "Accessibility" in the subject line. It helps if you include:
- the address of the page,
- what you were trying to do and what happened, and
- the device, browser and any assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable sharing that.
We will reply within 5 business days. If a barrier stops you finishing a survey, include the survey link. We will let the survey's creator know and help you find another way to respond.
Updates
We will update this statement as we fix the items above and as we find new ones.
